Second Ah Counter Role
I did my second ah counter role in Dalight toastmaster club. The theme was The signs the toastmaster of the evening no other than Mark B. the young veterans move in the group. We learned a lots from different speakers from their view and mistakes.
Here is my prepared speech...
Fellow members and most welcome guest good evening..
There are 52 words signs written in the bible both old and new
testaments and one of my favorite verse is in the book of
Daniel 4:3 How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders!
his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
in tonight we have a great signs, a signs of progress to success..
why because tonight my duties is to note any word or
sound used as a crutch by anyone who speaks during the
meeting. Words may be inappropriate interjections. I also note when a speaker
repeats a word or phrase.
so I listed here no. of ah and no. repeated words sorted from highest to lowest
tm so and so commited 3 ah and 4 repeated words
Conclusion..
No one wants to fail, but one of the biggest signs to success is not avoiding
failure but rather embracing it. fellow toastmaster once again good evening.

My research speech.
How to Have Eternal Life
If you were standing before God right now, and he asked you "Why should I let you into my heaven?", what would your answer be? Responses by some people might be:
"Well, I'm basically a good person."
"I have tried my best to live a good life and always do what is right."
"I'm a devout member of the ______ church" (fill in the blank with any religion or denomination).
As good as these answers are, none of them are good enough reasons for you to enter heaven and live with God forever. But, God does love you. He has a plan for your life and he longs to have a personal relationship with you.
But first, you need to recognize what it is that separates you from God. What is sin?
What is sin?
What is sin? Sin is simply disobeying God. It's choosing your own way, instead of God's way. Since the very first sin of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, every person is born with a sinful nature, a natural tendency toward sinning. Did you ever notice that an infant does not have to be taught how to be selfish? From our earliest beginnings, our lives center around ourselves, instead of being centered on our God, our Creator.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:10
What is the result of sin?
God cannot tolerate sin. God is perfect and his judgments are true. Our sinful nature separates us from God, both in this world and in the next. God cannot allow sin to enter into heaven, so our sinful nature condemns us to an eternity in hell, an eternity separated from God.
For the wages of sin is death... Romans 6:23
Even if we try to be as good as we can, and do what we think is right, we can never measure up to the standard of perfection that God requires.
Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:9
But, the story doesn't end there...
What did God do for you?
God loved us so much that he gave us the greatest gift.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16,17
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
God sent his one and only Son into this world to be the sin sacrifice for us. Christ Jesus, the Son of God, came to this earth and lived a perfect life that we could never live. Jesus was fully God and fully man, the "God-man".
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... John 1:1
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Jesus took our place on the cross and paid the price for the sins of the whole world.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.. Isaiah 53:5
Only the death of God could pay the debt caused by the sins of the whole world. Christ's death on the cross reconciled us to God, bridging the gap that was caused by our sin.
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. 1 Peter 3:18
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
But Jesus is not dead! The grave did not hold him. Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion.
(Jesus) was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification. Romans 4:25
What should you do?
The only way Jesus can affect our lives, save us from our sins, and give us eternal life, is for us to receive him.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12
Repent of your sin.
Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3:19
Repentance is more than just feeling sorry for your sin. It is a complete U-turn. It is turning away from your sin, and turning to God through Jesus. It is desiring God's will for your life, instead of desiring to sin.
Repent and turn to God, and do works (which give evidence of) repentance. Acts 26:20
Place your faith in Jesus.
By grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
Faith is more that just a head knowledge about Jesus. It is not just believing facts about Jesus.
Thou believest that there is one God: thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19
Faith is a knowledge in your heart. It is placing your trust in Jesus. It is like taking a trip on an airplane. You will never make the trip until you trust the plane enough to board it. Faith is more than saying "I believe", it is taking a step on your faith, and putting your trust in Jesus.
Surrender to Jesus as Lord of your life.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10: 9,10
Surrendering to Jesus as Lord is more than just saying the words.
Not every on that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
To surrender is to give Jesus total control of your life. That means giving all you know of yourself to all you know of God. Failing to surrender to is like driving a car with God in the passenger seat. As long as you are driving, you are still in control. Surrendering to God is like letting God have the steering wheel of your life and trusting him to take you where he chooses.
Does this make sense to you? Would you be willing to receive God's gift of eternal life through Jesus right now? You can pray right now and receive Jesus as the Savior and Lord of your life.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
If you call to God in repentance, putting your faith in him, and surrendering your life to him, Jesus will become your Savior and Lord. You can pray a prayer similar to this one:
Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know that because of my sin, I deserve punishment in hell. But you loved me so much, that you gave your son Jesus. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life on this earth, and died a cruel death to pay for my sins. Then, he rose from the dead and reigns with you eternally. Because of his death in my place, I can have forgiveness of my sins. Lord, I confess my sins, and I am willing to turn from my sins and receive Jesus as the Savior and Lord of my life. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name. Amen
Did you pray a prayer like the one above? If you did, and you meant it, you can be sure that you are saved and have eternal life. Now that your have become a Christian, what should you do next?

Guest Speaker

This is my speech as a guest speaker of La libertad Elementary School last March 31, 2009.
“My Education: My Contribution to the Future”
Thank you Prima for your wonderful Introduction.
Our Divion superintendent, Dr. Aurora B. Cubero
Our energetic district supervisor, Dr. Aurelia O. Ortiz
Our Mayor Honorable Maximo M. Estela
Our brgy. Captain Honorable Dionesio Antoniano
Members of the faculty headed by our teacher in charge Mr. Elden Derutas
Visitors, friends, parents in most importanly our graduates class 2009 Good afternoon.
It is my great honor to speak before you today with a message of hope and encouragement to all of us here.
When I was invited to be your guest speaker this year. At first Iám undecided, but at the back of my mind Iám chalenged and felt excitement to share my experiences. As I watched your parents walk with you side by side, I was reminded of my own graduation in this very school. I can still feel the pride and joy of my parents when I receive my diploma 18 years ago, as a graduate of class 1991. Many years separate us and yet we share the same memories that this great institution gave us.
The theme for this year’s graduation exercises “My Education: My Contribution to the Future” (Edukasyon ko, Handog ko sa Kinabukasan) is a very timely because first we forgot the importance of educations.
The first thing that strikes me about education is knowledge gain. Education gives us the knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on everything in life. Education is important because it equips us with all that is needed to make our dreams come true. Education opens doors of brilliant career opportunities. It fetches better prospects in career and growth. Every employer of today requires his prospective employees to be well educated. He requires expertise. Education is important as it teaches us the right behavior, the good manners thus making us civilized. It teaches us how to lead our lives. Education is the basis of culture and civilization. It is instrumental in the development of our values and virtues. Education cultivates us into mature individuals, individuals capable of planning for our futures and taking the right decisions.
And secondly We are Limited Knowledge about Student empowerment. Student empowerment means enabling the students to pursue social and achievement goals. Based on Philippines statistic there are 1.97 million who graduates in elementary. And yet kong aton ning e tan awon ang unahan dili dyod tam aka siguro nga 100 percent sila mo success sa ilang pag skwela tungod sa daghan nga mga hinungdan.
1. Na minyo og sayo
2. Na drop sa ka bugoy kay nadala sa barkada
3. Na drop kay cge og kabag sak
4. Na narbaho na
5. Walay interest
6. Kapubrihon
But “Poverty is not a hindrance to success” I agree with that quotation because In my 31 years of existence in this world. I encountered lots of difficulties and challenges labina sa akong pag skwela sa una. To 2:30 p.m. Then 3:00 to 9:30 pm adto kog skwelahan then matulog ko 2:30 na sa kadlawon ky study pa. but I never give-up because I know that our God will never leave us nor forsake us. We have a bright future if we hold on with faith.
My four secrets C's
1. Continue to dream big
In addition to the future, this is my formula : dream big,Dreams help you to do great things in life. Dreams will help you make the impossible things possible, to set direction in your lives, and to make changes for the better; even better, change the world and make it better. To dream big allows great inventions and discoveries to be made. To dream big puts energy and spark into each day. To dream big makes you continue to seek for excellence in everything you do.
2. Continue to learn
Also Life is a continous learning. so don't stop learning. Learn something new each day. By doing so, you will develop new passions and you will be an interesting person. I don’t want you to be dull. Take responsibility for your successes and your failures. Constant learning not only supplies you with facts, ideas and other forms of information, its also gives you the power to think better in order to make your dreams a reality.Knowledge creates power. The more you know, the more power you can gain. A really powerful person can be a knowledgeable person, too.
Katong first College pako nag segi nakog pangandam sa akong board exam. Naakoy permaninte nga gnadala nga pocket formulas every spare time akong g na familiarize and akong g na memorize og wala ko nag mahay pag sa time na ang board.
3. Choosing the right friends. So choose the right friends carefully. Your future is no greater than your friends. You are known by your friends. There are two traits the right friend does not have. 1. Is not comfortable with evil. 2. Is not worldly. There are also four traits the right friend does have. 1 Saved 2. Fear the Lord 3. Loves you no matter what. 4. Improves you walk.
4. Christ centered student – mean spend time with God, walk with Him, talk with Him, and without God you can do nothing.
Conlusion:
I believe that
“Poverty is not a hindrance to success” Kong gusto mo matupad ninyo ang inyong gipangando ayaw basihi ang imong pag bright, ang imong pag ka adonahan, kong diin ka nag skwela, kondili sa upat ka c.
Continue to dream big. Continue to learn, choosing the right friends, Christ centered student.= Equal success.
I do hope 9 year or eight years from now naay mga professional kaninyo.
Finally..
To the parents and teachers, help your children and students develop their potentials. They need you. They are in the stage of growing up. Help them realize their goals just as you helped me when I was still your student. I am indebted to all of you for inculcating in my mind the importance of education.
Once again good afternoon and congratulations to the graduates...

My First Timer in Toastmasters Club
Today I do my first ever timer in toastmaster club, I thought I give up to this club since I did not attend for almost five or six meetings, I totally discourage for many reason behind that only myself known, not the time but all about and knowledge that I cannot give to the club, but thanks God for giving me a sign I know its all God's plan for me and for His Glory. Here's below of what my prepared mini speech as a Timer.
"Our Greatest Glory is not in never falling, but in rising everytime we fall"
Fellow toastmasters and most welcome guest good evening
Timeliness is a very important part of speech training in toastmaster
and tonight I will be helping our speakers develop timeliness by timing their speeches.
My duties of the timer is to track and record each participants name and time used.
The rules is..
when I switch on the green light, it indicates that the speaker has reached the minimum time.
At the midpoint, I will switch on the yellow light.
At the end of the time window, I will on again the red light. At that point, the speaker will have 15 or 30 seconds to finish.
I will keep the red light on until the speaker stops speaking.
Here's the list of all the participants who below or exceed the allowed time.
Conclusion.
As a timer I learned a lots how to follow instruction and time management, when I switch on the green, yellow and red light. I believed our speaker will also learned by keeping the time and by rising everytime they fall. Once again fellow toastmaster and most welcome guest good evening.

My inner wounds
Inner wounds can either harm you or give you a successful Life.
Fellow toastmasters and most welcome guest good evening!
My Inner Wounds would tell my life story. I was born on May 4, 1977 in our Nipa Hut at La libertad, Sto. Tomas, Davao Del Norte. We are five siblings, three boys and two girls. During my childhood days I'm unconciously having inner wounds because of the unfair treatment of my parents. Since I'm the second son of the family, I usually wear second hand clothes and play second hand toys from my elder brother. Furthermore the wounds become worst when I'm ___ years old. It was sunday, December , 19 when my father instructed me to cook food for our lunch before the church service ends. When I'm going home my attention was caught in playing toys with my friends which causes me not to perform the task assigned to me. As a result my father was so angry that he spanks me with a guava twigs. I'm crying too loud and jump because of the pain thus I was hit in the nose. As I grow up I always have the fear to commit mistakes because my father will always shout and blamed me. He even used his force to correct my fault because he wants me to be disciplined. However at the back of my mind is rebellion and to take revenge because I dont have the choice but to obey him.
As a result I started to become independent person. I gathered un-used steel and bottles and sold it to Bote/ Bakal. I gathered also reject bananas from Banana plantations that surround us. I peel and sliced it, then dry it and sold it. During rice harvest, I'm fixing the left over from the chap and then sold it. I do this all to earn money and buy what I want. As a form of rebellion, I'm not making good of my studies during high school. I cut classes or always absent. I'm not paying my tuition pays but use the money for my vises. I'm smoking cigarretes, taking drugs " marijuana and syrup ", and doing gambling. I'm going to different places with barkadas just for enjoyment. All this vices make my life worst and miserable but with the help of my parents I still graduated my high school.
After secondary level, I enrolled a two year course " Electrical Technology" at Trade School Apokon,Tagum City. I got also a chance to have my OJT here in Davao Light under T&D Department before I graduated. From there, I wish to study at Davao City but my parents want me to Enroll at Tagum due to financial contraint.
Two months after I finished my Electrical Technology course, I worked in Farmingtown Agro-Developers Incorporated during the day while I took up a night class of AB Economics course at Bukidnon State College of Sto. Tomas. In my pursuit to become an Electrical Engineer and work in Davao Light I'm asking my parents to give me second chance and they permitted me so I decided to enroll at UM Davao taking up Electrical Engineering course. During my first day in the university there was no class, so decided to look for pleasures in the downtown area seeking a beer house to hang up. While walking along the way going to JS Gaisano Mall I heard my favorite hits of BEE GEES but the lyrics were not the same. I became curious so I tried to get in, thinking it was a beer house. But surprisingly with a dark places, as I look around it made myself confused for I saw nobody was drinking beer or smoking cigarettes. When the concert ended, there was a guy standing in front and talking about God’s word saying that God loves you, He wants to change you and give you an everlasting life, it is not too late. Right after I heard the message, he invited everyone to accept Jesus as their personal lord and savior. And without doubts, I renewed my mind and heartily accepted Jesus in my life. After all everything changes. All vices were gone. I was totally changed from the unrighteous way of living.
It was an eye opener for me. I started to cover up all my shortcomings by concentrating on my studies. Since then, my attention focused on attending church, always reading the word of God and listening Christian songs. With all the hardships to pursue my studies being a self-supporting student, I worked as a Jollibee express boy from 8:00 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon. Then I attended classes after the duty until 9:30 in the evening and took time for review until 2:00 o’clock in the morning. After four and a half years I successfully graduated and passed the board examination in RME and REE.
At present, I am very active in church youth ministry. And having a happy family with only one wife and two handsome kids not like me hehehe.
I'm sure that anyone of us has an inner wounds or pains but God allows it not to break us but to build us. However, it depends on how
you deal with it. Whether you blame others, you ignore it by taking drugs or even confront it
but one thing I could say is… your decision determines your destiny.
Fellow toastmasters and most welcome guest once again good evening!
Comments from the evaluator TM Mark Sam Banluta
Joel, you were able to meet the objectives of speech #1. I like the content of your speech, you were very open about your life The title is very " Attention Getting", your opening statement immediately got my attention. The body of you speech is well structured, very coherent from the start and your conclusion was very brief yet very insightful. Continue with your next speech project!!!
Note: I did my first speech project #1 last October 30, 2008

It has twofolds purpose
first to give a members an opportunity to speak especially those

second to get members to learn to think and speak on their feet.
There are many ways in pattern table topics master do.
some give speaker a quotation to interpret.
Others read a letter/email and have speaker respond their openion.
But tonight I will be using those patterns.
so I read the quotation in I call someone to interpret.
Then i read also the part of DLEU board resolution the someone
